As I’ve said before, I’m the type of girl who’s pretty much incapable of dating more than one guy at a time. If I like you, you’re it for me — Until I dislike you.
That being said, I had been dating a guy for a couple of weeks, and decided that I wanted to spend my time with him and him, alone. I text messaged the two or three people I was hanging out with here and there, and told them that I had met someone and wanted to see where it was going to go.
One guy, Dave, was really understanding about it.
“That’s cool. I’m sort of seeing someone myself,” he responded.
Being the huge hypocrite that I am, I got really annoyed and called him.
“What do you mean you’re seeing someone?” I asked without even saying hello. “Were you even going to tell me?”
“I’m telling you now,” he said, laughing.
“No, you’re telling me now because I told you. How long have you been seeing this chick?”
“A little over a year,” he replied, cool as could be.
“WHAT?!” I asked, horrified. “You’re not ‘seeing’ her, she’s your girlfriend! Does she know you’re on a dating site?!”
“Egh, she’s on her way out, anyway,” he said, nonchalantly.
So there it was. I went on PlentyOfFish and caught a worm. And, according to a new friend of mine, this happens way more than I had even thought. Supposedly over 50% of the people on these dating sites are either in relationships or marriages! What a disgrace. Get a life people..Or better yet, a good divorce lawyer, and stop wasting everyone’s time.
Have you ever found out that someone you spoke to online was in a relationship or married? What happened?
